Right now we are looking at projects for 2015. Current possibilities include:
- a single mom’s addiction center with child care,
- a men’s half-way house,
- a counseling center, and more.
These are all worthy and amazing projects! However, we first need to develop sustainability for HeroWork. To this end we are putting on our first-ever Fund-a-Reno campaign. We need this $50K campaign to be successful to move forward in 2015. And we need your help to make it happen–there isn’t much time!
It’s actually a bit difficult to ask for help for yourself. But I’ve got to be courageous and unabashed. After a million dollars of projects we’ve proven ourselves as capable of making a massive difference for community and charities that need rebuilding.
I can’t stress this enough: HeroWork–the organization, the people, the cause–needs your help. Here is the coming line up of events:
On Nov 29th we kick off our Fund-a-Reno campaign with a Premiere and Fundraiser. This is more than the world premiere, there will be dinner and wine, Olympians, a silent auction, and a six-piece band with dancing. Oh, plus there will be a special surprise I can’t tell you about. Tickets are $75 and available here.
- On Monday Dec 1st we launch our crowdfunding campaign that will last till the 21st of Dec. This will be HUGE!
- On Thursday Dec 4th at 8pm CHEK airs our show live.
- Also on Thursday Dec 4th we are inviting community to the Oak Bay Gospel Assembly (across the street from the reno on Davie Street) for a big screen experience of the show. This is by donation and you can just show up at 1900 Oak Bay Ave. Show starts at 8:00 PM.
- Then on Friday Dec 5th at the Alex Goolden Hall Worship Victoria will put on a Christmas concert called “Thrill of Hope” to benefit HeroWork. The stage will be full of super-talent musicians who will blow your socks off!
Phew! It’s a busy time. There are lots of ways to choose to support HeroWork. We’ve got a big vision. I hope you will help lift our program to the next level. Please spread the word. Every little bit helps!
Get inspired. Get involved. Leave a message. Email a friend. Make a call. Write a cheque!
