Happy 2015!
I’m excited, because HeroWork will be accepting formal applications for new projects starting this coming Monday. If you know of a charity that needs a renovation for a property they own, let them know pronto. We are hoping to decide on our next project early to mid Feb.
What a great way to start off a new year!
This also means HeroWork’s inaugural fundraising campaign ends this Friday. We still need your help. We’ve made good progress but still have farther to go. Please spread the word and/or contribute if you can.
2014 was a year to remember for HeroWork. Here’s a few highlights:
- We developed a sustainable business model, which lead to HeroWork becoming an official federal society.
- We completed a $350 Radical Reno for Threshold Housing and youth at risk of homelessness.
- We mobilized and inspired over 100 companies and hundreds of volunteers.
- We applied for charity status (it’s currently at CRA).
- We produced another documentary showcasing the Threshold build.
- We put on a world Premiere, which led into our first-ever fundraising campaign.
- And most importantly, we were an example of courage and community spirit!
Not bad for a small group of people with big hearts and big vision! But if you think that’s good, wait for 2015.
Help us make it happen by sharing this post below, and even more importantly sharing our crowdfunding campaign. It will only take a couple of minutes max. Together let’s make 2015 a tipping point for HeroWork. We can do it!
Paul
PS If you are interested in getting involved with HeroWork on a consistent basis, key volunteer roles will be opening soon. Stay tuned if you want to shepherd the start of a movement 🙂
