2016 Extreme Team Call Out

2015-03-28_10-30-54

“This is a call for leaders!”

That’s the opening line of the simple video presentation below. This is exciting because the time has come to bring together this year’s Extreme Team!

These are the big-hearted, talented, community-orientated, and all-around beautiful people who will join together to help organize the Rainbow Kitchen’s Radical Renovation, starting Sept 16, running for three weekends, and ending on Oct 2nd.

For a while now we’ve been building the Renovation Team, but it’s time to bring together Event Management and Public Relations teams.

We’d love for you to be involved!

  1. The Event Management Team develops and organizes the “special event” portion of the Radical Renovation. Leadership positions include, ceremonies (opening & closing), entertainment, food service, site maintenance, and more.
  2. The Public Relations Team takes care of the communications to the community, and includes roles such as neighbourhood liaisons, photography leaders, volunteer check in, social media, and more.

If interested, give me a call or drop me a note. My contact info is below. I’m keen to give you a tour of the Rainbow Kitchen site and have a deeper conversation about what you’d like to do. Only then will we be able to ensure a win-win situation that both works for your time and energy, and our program.

Once on board, we kick-off the whole process on Saturday June 4th with our inagural Leadership Build Day. This workshop will be put on by yours truly, as well as Peter McCoppin (past conductor of the Victoria Symphony and world class seminar leader) and Annette Wall (HeroWork chair with a masters in leadership, associate faculty at Royal Roads, and past assistant deputy minister).

This Leadership Build Day will provide three things:

Peter McCoppin, acclaimed keynote speaker and master communicator.

Peter McCoppin, acclaimed keynote speaker and master communicator.

  1. Context – we will show you how a Radical Renovation event works: what are all the pieces, how do they work together, how does your role fit within the overall plan, etc.
  2. Alignment – we will go through a collaborative process and collectively decide how to work together, creating a strong sense of common vision and common purpose.
  3. Road Map – we will map out for you the “Road to a Radical Renovation,” highlighting all the major steps, milestones, and timelines we will need to take throughout the summer to prepare for the fall event.

If you are a leader who is looking to share your knowledge and expertise, we’d love to have you on board. If you are leaders just starting out who is looking to increase your capacity and networks, this is a great program. If you want to support the food security and the sense of community the Rainbow Kitchen provides (not to mention the other non-profits who use the space), consider helping us help them. If you are looking to create massive change while working with a dynamic and powerful team, then this is a place for you.

Looking forward to connecting!
